Ontem vi os três primeiros capítulos de O DEGELO (THE THAW ou o título original ODWILZ), uma surpreendente série policial polonesa em exibição na HBO MAX.
Katarzyna Zawieja (a ótima atriz Katarzyna Wajda, que até agora ainda não consegui descobrir se ela é parente do extraordinário Andrzej Wajda cineasta polonês falecido em 2016) é uma detetive altamente competente da Polícia de uma cidade portuária, ainda traumatizada (e insatisfeita) com o resultado da investigação sobre a morte de seu marido, também policial. Ela é encarregada da investigação da morte brutal da filha de um poderoso ministro.
A trama é recheada de intrigas políticas, discriminações contra o trabalho da policial, grupos violentos de marginais e agiotas agindo nas sombras, pressões de todos os lados para uma solução rápida do caso. Em meio a tudo isto, Katarzyna, seu sogro e sua filha tentam viver o luto pela perda do homem que era o esteio da família, em circunstâncias obscuras.
A trama, como se vê, é muito rica. Há vários “sub plots”, como os americanos gostam de dizer.
A condução da trama por uma ótima atriz e a magistral utilização dos magníficos cenários gelados da Polônia dão ainda maior atratividade para reter o interesse (sempre crescente) do espectador.
Já estão disponíveis 3 dos 6 capítulos da série.
Com certeza vou acompanhar os demais episódios. Quero muito saber onde esta história vai acabar.
Yesterday I saw the first three chapters of THE THAW (ODWILZ), a surprising Polish crime series on HBO MAX.
Katarzyna Zawieja (the great actress Katarzyna Wajda, who so far I still can’t figure out if she’s related to the extraordinary Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda who died in 2016) is a highly competent police detective from a port city, still traumatized (and dissatisfied) with the result of the investigation into the death of her husband, also a police officer. She is charged with the investigation of the brutal death of the daughter of a powerful minister.
The plot is full of political intrigue, discrimination against the work of the female c, violent groups of criminals and loan sharks acting in the shadows, pressure from all sides for a quick solution to the case. In the midst of all this, Katarzyna, her father-in-law and her daughter try to grieve the loss of the man who was the mainstay of the family, in obscure circumstances.
The plot, as you can see, is very rich. There are several “sub plots”, as Americans like to say.
The direction of the plot by a great actress and the masterful use of the magnificent icy scenery of Poland add even more attractiveness to retain the (always growing) interest of the spectator.
